I believe in no God, no invisible man in the sky. But there is something more powerful in each of us, a combination of our efforts, a great chain of industry that unites us. But it is only when we struggle in our own interests that the chain pulls society in the right direction. The chain is too powerful and too mysterious for any government to guide. Any man who tells you differently either has his hand in your pocket or a pistol to your neck.

My friend, the photographer Kyle Cassidy tweeted about this tumblr designed to dispel the myth that men aren’t interested in reading comics by and about strong, diverse, interesting women. As an author who feels it’s very important to have strong smart women characters in my books I decided…

Artist Highlight: Lynne Yoshii (2012)

You give this woman a pencil, a copic marker and a piece of paper and she’ll make you a masterpiece. Those bold first words are backed up with talent you can appreciate in each drawing Lynne does, her pencils are full of passion and they usually make such a strong stand that it’s impossible to avoid looking at them. She does gives warm feelings looking at her art, maybe is the sultry and kind look she gives to every female she draws or the subtlety of every line she traces. She describes herself as an aspiring comic artist working for a toy company. With talent like this I don’t know why Marvel and DC aren’t breaking this girl’s phone to beg her to work for them!
